We had a similar issue and our temporary “fix” was to unpublish any event created after the plugin update. Sidebars on single event pages are still broken, but the site works again. I don’t know if you’re having the same issue we are, but I thought I’d offer our experience. Hope it helps.

Same here, website crashes with server error 500 after updating to the new version.
I’m hoping its not a case of “you get what you pay for”. They replied to my ticket with a statement that it will be resolved in future releases.
I will probably need to find a different solution.
