Newbie question

I have been working on WordPress for a while now, and a litle problem wich i can’t seem to fix has come across me. I think its really easy to solve to, I just can’t find out how.

I added some content in my home.php (a slider and a rss importer) and I wish to make a vertical spacing between then. I tried to echo a
