Hi, are you by chance using the PaceThemes Page Builder. I’m seeing some “Pace” CSS ids and classes.
If you are using that, on the Plugin page for it at ww.wp.xz.cn, it states it hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. It was last updated 1 year ago according to the page. It may well be that the plugin is incompatible with the latest versions of WordPress and is no longer in development.
From here, looking at the HTML and CSS on your main page, and on that post and some other posts, I’m not seeing anything that looks suspicious to me.

I have no clue if I’m using PaceThemes Page Builder. I just picked the free “Cubic” template. Is there a way to go back to the last version of WordPress that I was using? I really like the theme. Thanks, Denise

Hi, Go into your dashboard and to Plugins > Installed Plugins and see if you see something about Page Builder there. It may be that it was installed with your original setup of your account at your web host. If so, I would deactivate it. I am just going off of what I see in the HTML for your site, and it appeared to me that it might be installed.
Can you try setting that post back to draft and then republish it and see if it shows up then?

If the above does not work, I would suggest that you go to your dashboard and to updates and reinstall the latest version of WordPress. It may be that there is still something hanging around from the “hack”.

I tried all of the above: nothing about Page Builder in installed plugins; set the post back to draft and republished; reinstalled latest version of WordPress. Still not loading. I even tried deinstalling all of the plugins again to see if that would work. It didn’t. Sigh, sigh, sigh. I’m pretty frustrated. Earlier post still holds true: When I’m in sanantoniotourist/wp-admin and I “visit site,” I can see the post in the grid/cubic layout. It gives me a ray of hope, but then it’s dashed when I go to sanantoniotourist.net. Thanks for your help.

What is your latest post title that isn’t showing up? I’ve not been able to reproduce this on my test site and I’m going to see if I can get one of our developers involved on this.

Here is a nuclear option you can try. Go into that post, set it back to draft and update the post. Then switch to the Text/HTML tab in the post editor, copy out all content and then open an new post, title it and then paste in everything from the old post and publish and see if that fixes the issue. It could be that there is something messed up in that post from when you were hacked.

I created the post after the hack was cleaned up by Hostgator. Should I still try this nuclear option?
I’m thinking it had something to do with the WordPress update I did after the hack. I took two screenshots and emailed them to you. Did you get them?
Thanks, Denise

Denise, I didn’t see any screenshots come through. Can you upload them to a file sharing service like https://cloudup.com or… and then post links to them?
I would try the nuclear option and see what happens.
The other thing that I wonder about is the permalink structure. Can you go to Settings > Permalinks and set it to Day and name and save and then clear your browser cache and look at your site main page again?
Also on the Permalinks settings page, what do you have set for a category and tag base?

I posted on Twitter so that I could see if other bloggers in San Antonio have had a similar issue. Here’s the link: https://twitter.com/dbrsat/status/974055663956611072

Could you open that post in your post editor and take a screenshot of the of that window and then upload it to your media library, or to a file sharing service and then give us a URL to that image? I don’t know what I’m looking for, but would like to see if anything jumps out at me.

Hi, I can’t see those links as it asks me to log in. Open those images in your media library and you can get the URL of the actual image.

I opened the images in the media library, and those are the links they gave me. Sigh. My email is sanantoniotourist at gmail dot com. If you email me, I’ll send the images via email. Thanks, Denise
