Everyone here is a volunteer and the best expertise does not necessarily reside in the volunteer forum staff.
Please provide a link to a page on your site where we can see this happening. Thanks. Note: Your link will be public and we will not later remove it.
Point taken.
The url is https://www.edwebworks.tk and the active theme is GeneratePress.
Thanks.
I don’t see any images. Please add some or let me know if they’re “there” and missing.
The images and the content do not show up after installing and activating a new theme. It’s the same for any theme.
The web page of the GeneratePress theme is showing on the WordPress site https://ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/generatepress/
Themes do not come with content. While they might look really nice in the theme’s page, remember that that’s a carefully crafted image designed to show off what’s possible with the theme. The theme, however, will only display what content you have.
Installing a theme is like buying a new house. When you toured it, it was well staged with nice furniture, stuff on the walls, etc. When you move in, the house is empty. It’s up to you to fill it.
If you have content on your site, that content will be shown in your new theme. You may (and probably will need to) play with some things to get exactly the layout you want, as well as setting many theme options.
Every theme provides a sample home page as with twenty-seventeen and others after the install. This is common for all WordPress themes.
The default menu is also missing in the page with GeneratePress.
Now I have installed the twenty-twelve theme which has a menu and an image by default in the home page. None of it shows up.
If if I install on another platform the menu, content and image shows. So clearly there is an installation issue here.
You may also need to create menus or assign existing menus to a theme-specific location.
As I mentioned a theme’s homepage loads in one WordPress install as showing in the preview with images, menus content etc, but doesn’t on another WordPress installation.
Perhaps if you are able to try installing a theme yourself or ask your fellow moderators who are aware how theme works might help you understand the case better.
I’m well aware of how themes work, having written more than a few myself. However, since you feel it’s necessary to insult me, I’ll walk away from this topic. Maybe someone else will jump in.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
But it was quite apparent what exactly the issue is. Also, was inclined to the perspective that another moderator with expertise besides you will know the technical reason behind the glitch.
