I’ve converted my images to next-gen using you plugin but I’m still seeing some not converted and showing on the google speed test as needing to be converted.
    Why is that?

I don’t see that there is a webp version of that image. If you follow the link to the image and add “.webp” at the end, it will give you a 404. The WebP generator won’t create a WebP version if the filesize isn’t smaller than the original JPG or PNG (as that’s the point of using WebP).

I downloaded that image and uploaded it to a test site and it generated a WebP version, so one of two things is happening:
    1. This image wasn’t included in the bulk optimize to get a WebP generated, in which case you just need to select it and do a WebP only in the bulk conversion.
    2. You have increased the WebP Quality settings on the Advanced tab and it’s creating a file that is larger than the original.

    Thanks for your help.
There are four URL in the snipboard, 3 have webp versions yet are still showing on that list:
    https://www.example.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Signup.png.webp
    https://www.example.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/shapes-bg.png.webp
    https://www.example.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/featured-bg.png.webp
    why is this?

    and the fourth:

I’ve run the bulk optimizer and everything is optimizer but this one still says ‘in progress’ next to the image, https://snipboard.io/541Drd.jpg even though I’ve waited a few days
    why is this?
I haven’t changed any setting on the advanced tab. These are my settings:

For reference, replacing your URL with example.com (changed from xxx) isn’t necessarily a great idea, considering where that sends people.

For why PageSpeed isn’t recognizing these as WebP, well, I would recommend not using PageSpeed for looking at things like this. They don’t provide a waterfall to see what is actually loading and how it is loading. When loading your site and inspecting it, that file is loading as WebP file and it is much smaller even than their suggestion of 40kb. https://snipboard.io/mSbcY1.jpg

For the image that is stuck saying “in progress”, it may be stuck in the queue. If you go to the Tools menu -> EWWW IO and there is a section that shows what is in the queue with a button that says ‘clear queue’.

I would suggest submitting further questions about this to our support and I can help you there (without having to post on a public forum): https://ewww.io/contact-us/

I am extremely embarrassed and I apologies – how do I remove the above thread with the inappropriate links?

It’s no problem, and we had a forum moderator update the links. Again though, I would recommend contacting us at https://ewww.io/contact-us/ for further help with this!
