Next / previous post within category

    Hi

    I want the previous/next post navigation that is at the bottom when reading a post to only display posts within the category that the current post is in.

    For example, if I’m reading a post in category A, the theme will currently suggest posts from all other categories. How do I tell the theme to only suggest posts from category A? Or only display posts from category B if I’m reading a post that’s in category B?

    Is this possible?

    Hi there,

    Thanks so much for using Maxwell.

    The theme does not support this feature, I’m sorry.

    But it is possible with a child theme. You need to override the pluggable function maxwell_post_navigation() which you can find in /inc/template-tags.php.

    You can then adjust the function call to the WordPress Core function the_post_navigation() and add the taxonomy paramater. Please see the docs about that on https://developer.ww.wp.xz.cn/reference/functions/get_the_post_navigation/

    If you have no WordPress development skills you can also hire a freelancer to program that for you.
