    The plugin only works with the WordPress Media Library. You’ll see a Set WP User Avatar button when looking at images in the Media Library. Adding the ability to choose an image from NextGen Gallery will require a lot of functionality changes in the plugin. I don’t have any immediate plans to add this feature.
