Nextgen Public Uploader creates wrong name

    Why is it when I use Nextgen Public Uploader the image uploaded get a long alphanumeric name appended to the image name; like this- image name before upload;
    kids-awards11.jpg
    Name after being uploaded with Nextgen Public Uploader;
    kids-awards11-86be525886e40c9572f6db92874ff1edb22bae1e.jpg
    Yet when the same image is uploaded inside Nextgen Gallery “add Images” no name change occurs?
    Can anybody tell me why that is happening.
