I have a shortcode in a widget that is not loading on one page, but is loading on other pages.

By comparing source output, I can see that NextGen scripts are not loading on that one page but I can’t find any reason why they are being excluded.

I have checked functions.php and NextGen options but can not find anywhere that the scripts are being excluded. There are no errors in the server logs.

Any suggestions for how else I can troubleshoot why the scripts are being suppressed on that one page but not others?

@digitalheights – Without seeing the two pages there is not a lot we can suggest. Are you seeing a broken display, no display, or some other reference to the display indicating it is not working as expected? As is, we would still need more details on the problem to be able to suggest anything more significant than checking for potential conflicts.

    Thanks!

    Thank you Cais,

I’m receiving the “ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder” on the problematic page.

With some more troubleshooting, it appears to be related to the Blog Module of the Divi theme by Elegant Themes. The version of Divi the site is running is 2.3.5.

When I remove the Blog module from the page, the NextGen scripts are loaded properly on the page.

Unfortunately it is not an option to upgrade Divi at the moment; I will have a look at the support forums on Elegant Themes and possibly submit a ticket.

Do you have any suggestions as to what we should be looking for that would be blocking NextGen from loading?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Cais,

The Divi support team recognizes this issue and offered this response in September:

    —-
I apologize for the frustration this issue has caused. Unfortunately, the root cause of the issue is out of our control. There is nothing that we can do at this point that would resolve the issue. The reason being that the problem is directly caused by NextGen’s code. They have implemented a work-around for what they consider to be a bug in WordPress. Their work-around directly affects other themes and plugins which rely on shortcodes; this isn’t just a conflict with Divi.

I do want to clarify, that NextGen isn’t completely broken with Divi. The conflict is specifically with Divi’s post-based modules (Blog, Portfolio, & Post Slider). So long as you place the gallery on a page that doesn’t include a post-based module it will work fine.

Is this an issue the developers are aware of and working on?

    Thanks,
    Scott

@digitalheights – Our lead developer has specifically asked for more details to look into the issues you are seeing, especially with the shortcode placeholder problems.

Please send us a Bug Report (https://imagely.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page at your site.

Please include as many details as you can about your site and the issue at hand so we can move on this as fast as possible.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
