@chromemedia: Can you go Gallery > Other Options > Lightbox Effects and please try using another lightbox style and let us know if others are working for you or if it’s just Thickbox? After trying another one, if it is working, try switching back to Thickbox to see if that works.

If one or more are not working my first two guesses are:

    1) Caching. Please try clearing your browser cache, and if you are using a caching plugin, clear that cache or try deactivating and reactivating the caching plugin.

    2) Plugin conflict. If that doesn’t work, I’m wondering if you can try momentary deactivating other plugins just long enough to see if Thickbox starts working so we can see if you’re having a conflict with another plugin.

    Thanks (Erick).

Hi, it seems that I have a similar problem, but I think that mine is caused because of plugin conflict.
I have a test site up and running. All plugins are up-to-date. The problem I have is:
I have a part of a site that is using images from NextGen gallery. It works as expected. Other part, shop, uses Woo Commerce plugin and its own lightbox feature.
When WooCommerce is activated, when I click on NextGen gallery image thumbnail it opens as a singlepic, meaning as a separate page with no navigation whatsoever. In the moment I disable Woo Commerce, everything works ok.
If those two can not coexist on a single site is there some workaround or can I explicitly tell on which pages/templates Woo Comerce should run or something like that.
The example of what’s happening can be seen here

Many thanks in advance for your help!

I’ve done the suggestion of switching to another Lightbox Effect, and it doesn’t appear to have made a difference.

    Hi,
I add the same issue. Switching to lightbox then back to thickbox was enough for me.
Once the page refreshed everything was working as before the update.

I’ve switched between four different lightbox types, deactivated all the other plugins, cleared the browser cache, and have double checked the scripts to make sure the plugin update for NextGen was installed properly… still can’t quite iron out what may be causing the issue. Anybody else run into this?

@chromemedia Inc. – Here are a few more things to try if you don’t mind, to see if they help:

    1) If you at any time moved your site (i.e. from test site to live location), check under advanced settings under Gallery >> Other Options > Lightbox effects, that the URL path to stylesheet and others are the correct url. So if your test location was at http://www.domain.com/wp/, that the URL reflects the new live location of http://www.domain.com … instead. More info on this found here: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/galleries-opening-lightbox/

    2) Permalinks set to ‘post name’ under Settings >> Permalinks

    3) I saw that you already tried deactivating all plugins, reactivating NextGEN > cleared browser cache and tried again… if that isn’t working, you might try temporarily switching your theme to a wordpress default theme in case it might by a theme conflict

Let us know how the above works for you.

So I discovered an issue with both an outdated child theme and a conflicting plugin. Another of those usual problems with conflicting versions of jQuery between custom themes, plugins and WordPress.

Thanks for all the feedback and patience!
