Hmm, my install of NGG 2.0.17 still shows the widget “NextGEN Slideshow” and it also has been working for me.
I have not used it in my headers, but e.g. Meteor Slides plugin is compatible with NGG 2.0.x and allows also the possibility to link the slider images to your selected URL (external or just page/post).
I ran into this issue on a client’s site. Replaced the function call with a shortcode call. This should work for you @xtan911:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[slideshow id=X w=X h=X]'); ?>
As explained at http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/basic-slideshow-gallery/: “The width and height can be set using the w and h attributes.”
@alistair Barnett – Thanks for the tips and the code sample!
– Cais.
@photocrati – happy to help!
FYI: Several shortcode examples at http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/nextgen-gallery-shortcodes/ don’t appear. Glad I came across that other web page.
@alistair Barnett – That page is specifically for the current version of NextGEN Gallery shortcode structures … we do have other references on our Documentation page leading to the NextGEN Legacy shortcode structures, most of which can be found here: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/help/shortcodes/
Which specific shortcode structures are not appearing? We would like to make sure these are all up-to-date.
Thanks!
– Cais.
@photocrati – What I mean is the shortcodes that are supposed to appear as examples simply aren’t there:
