Nginx vs. Apache

Does anyone have experience with running WordPress on Nginx and Apache. If so, which do you recommend and why? I’ve been thinking about switching to Nginx because of the performance claims but I can’t find a lot of documentation out there for using Nginx with WordPress. I have noticed that ww.wp.xz.cn, wordpress.com, and some big blogs like techcrunch.com all run on Nginx so that’s another reason why I think I would like to give it a try.

I’ve also been looking for some tutorials on configuring Nginx for WordPress because I have no idea how nginx works. So if anyone knows of any links that would be helpful.
