Exactly what I was looking for.

One tip for other users-

I wanted to remove the trail of Instagram comments beneath each embed because they’re not so valuable sometimes.

The trick was to go to this plugin’s simple-instagram-embed.php where on line 40 I changed “scrolling” to scrolling=”no”
