With regards to the problems you mention, yes, some folks do have issues – this is to be expected when we have no control over which themes users have activated on their sites, or what plugins they’re using, which 3rd party services are being integrated, etc. There are a lot of dependencies, which is a reality of being a plugin! Most people have no problems, and we do our best to address the more serious issues – we do have to limit our involvement, though, because this is a free plugin, and the more support we do, the less time we have to actually build these products that help people.
With regards to the ad, we heard a lot from the community, and have just released an update that makes the branding optional. In addition, we’re working on a pro version of Flare, that adds a bunch of pretty awesome functionality. You can get all the details here:
