• I tried to upgrade to 2.6 and had to back out the upgrade. My site is working but I have no access to my admin center at all, i.e., I don’t even get the login page. Does anyone know what file might be the culprit? I have the full home directory backup I can reinstall if necessary, but if I can just fix one file that would be easier.

  • Why don’t you just redo the upgrading process but then entirely? You probably miss some files in the root or wp-admin, but with a full pack of one version of WP things will not go too well anyway.

    I don’t understand what you’re saying.

I used fantastico to do the upgrade, so that wasn’t done manually.

Also, I don’t want to redo the upgrade until I can get back into my admin center to reset to the default template and turn off my plugins, which I can’t do when I can’t get to my admin center…

I mean that you’re not ‘between two versions’. Your half upgrade has probably copied some 2.6.3 files and left some 2.6.2, so in my opinion there’s only one way to go: 2.6.3. There’s no way you can get your admin back properly with files from two versions. I don’t know how Fantastico upgrades work, you can read this for the manual upgrade instructions, which I recommend over automatic upgrades anyway.
