Bump, i’ve got the same problem, i have upgraded from 1.5.1 to 2.0.1 and i’ve got no cache folder. How can i enable it ?
In 2.0.x
/wp-content/cache
is created automatically. It is enabled by default.
so do you mean that i have to create it manually then ?
olorin – have a look. It shpuld be there ?
If not, yes you can create it but then check that WP is actually using it.
ok that’s what i thought. As i said, i’ve upgraded from 1.5.1 to 2.0.1 and absolutely no cache folder has been created when running upgrade.php in /wp-content and there was no cache folder in the /wp-content of the 2.0.1 zip file.
BTW i’ve got no error message when i’ve updated.
The problem is, if i create /wp-content/cache manually, will wordpress use it ?
is it possible that is a bug of the 2.0.1 version ?
Would having a ‘no-cache’ statement in the header cause WP not to cache?
Same issue here. Since upgrading to 2.0.1 i’ve had no cache folder. It just disappeared… How to re-activate cache?
I’m having the same problem. I’m using the latest version of wordpress( 2.05 )and I’m showing no cache folder in my wp-content at all. What should i do?
PS. I downloaded wordpress again, and copied everything to my wordpress site; now its still not showing in my wp-content. I also manually created a cache folder, but I don’t think wordpress is using it.
Some of my plugins aren’t working either. I have custom smiley’s and Rich Hamilton’s Catagory visibility and none of them are showing in the “manage” tab. I have both of them activiated, but I can’t figure out why its not showing in the “manage tab”.
As you might have noticed… you are posting to a thread that is months old = about a different WP version.
The latest WP does not have any cache folder.
Why do you need it? It is uselss and causes more trouble than good…
90% of the plugins don’t have any “manage” gizmo. You just activate them, read the instructions, and they work.
