The mdocs post is a page not a post template, this means that by default it can’t have categories. WordPress does not give the ability to add cateogories to pages.

Hi, I tried the categories for pages plugin and it works well on the standard WordPress pages, but the categories do not show on the mdocs post pages.
i just tested that plugin on mdocs posts and I can see the categories and also select them. What seems to be your issue with the plugin?
Tried it again, still not showing up…plugin works fine on WordPress pages but nothing showing up on mdocs post pages. Sorry, I can’t be more specific because I don’t know what the cause might be. I tried adding a new document post after installing the plugin, still no categories. I’m using Akismet, iThemes Security, NexGen Gallery, Ultimate Member, Google Fonts and WPForms Lite. Could any of these be the issue?
try disabling all other plugins other than mdocs and the cat plugin and see if that does anything.

that is very weird… it works perfectly fine for me? Maybe look for another plugin that will do the same thing and try that one.
I tried a different Categories for Pages plugin, and had the same result. Is there some information i should be looking for or area which might be problematic? It’s as if WordPress didn’t recognize the mcdocs post as a page?
I’m using a Nexusthemes theme and unfortunately cannot deactivate it for testing without losing all the data. I’m going to try this with their test theme to see if I can reproduce the problem.

Unfortunately the test version does not permit installation of plugins. Stumped.

May I jump into the convesation and ask for clarification to why I DO have the possibility to create categories under Mdocs Posts menu? Has it come with the latest update and means categories are now enables? If so, can categories be assigned to files folders?
