• Hello Support Team,

we had the following case this week, the customer had entered a wrong city to his postal code. In the settings of the plugin we use the option “Only allow addresses that can be routed”. Unfortunately, the shipping label could be generated without problems and there was no error message that the address is not routable.

    We then tested various possibilities:

    • If the entered postal code does not exist, there is an error message and we can not create a shipping label.
    • If the entered street does not match to a valid postal code, then an error message is displayed and no shipping label can be created.
    • If the postal code and street are correct and we enter an incorrect city, then the shipping label is created without an error message. In the DHL portal is this shipping label then marked as incorrect. In the note stands that the city does not match to the postal code and therefore the address cannot be routing coded.

This case should be intercepted during generation by the option “Only allow addresses that can be routed”? Here is an example from Germany to check. The following address is correct and would be routable:

    • Street: Alexanderplatz 1
    • Postal code: 10178
    • City: Berlin

if we now changes the city:

    • Street: Alexanderplatz 1
    • Postal code: 10178
    • City: München

then the shipping label is still generated, although the address clearly not routable.

Thank you very much for checking this case and I am at your disposal for any questions.

    Best regards
    Thomas

It seems like in the example you sent the package is still in fact Codeable but a warning is returned instead of an error. This is why the label is created.

    Hello,

Thanks for your reply, but when we create this shipping label in WooCommerce, no warning or notice is displayed! Only in the DHL business customer portal we can see, this shipping label is not codeable. However, this is then too late!

This does not fit together. The goal would be to signal this error or warning already in WooCommerce.

    Regards
    Thomas
