• Hi everyone! Thanks for all the docs, helps, etc. I’m in a *totally* different mindset than all you coders… Can anyone suggest a blog software that will allow me to write content only? Once I have a theme I plan to never change it; I’m in no way interested to edit config files, css, html, xhtml and the like. I’m looking for something that’s as simple as writing in a notebook, but *never* having to ‘bind’ the pages or otherwise build/re-build the infrastructure. Anything to look at??
    TIA.

Thanks for quick answer. Any way to do this type of thing
on a machine that I control physically? This avoids EULA’s, or other agreements which take site down if ‘editor’ doesn’t like content (no, I will *not* have porn, etc.). Just want to speak mind; those that don’t like ideas can then move on, not spam or take-down.

In any event, again thanks for being kind enough to answer. Actually, I have (I think) a great idea for blog/journal/mag type software, but I’m not a coder. Don’t know how to protect the idea while presenting it to someone who does have skills.
Thanks Again. Have A Healthy, Prosperous Day!

no, not unless you are looking to employ someone to take care of the technical stuff.

having a web site — having a web server, even more so — takes technical knowhow, and what you lack has to be learned or gleemed off the web, or outsourced.

there is no way around that.

OK, thanks guys! Guess I’ll have to come up w/something else.
Maybe a mimeograph machine or a Kleinshmidt teletype!!
Seriously though, in recent history the only thing I’ve seem that
was what I wanted was TUX magazine: Linux/open source mag w/2-page layout that looked ‘glossy’ like any high end magazine, viewable in 2-up format (2 pgs. at a time) like we humans normally read, all done in .pdf format for download, transfer and/or archive. What killed them was no subscription or ad $$$$$; that and the fact that the writers were soooo far apart for meetings, etc. (New Zealand to NY??)

Maybe I’m simply ‘html/web stupid’, but I can’t figure why w/adobe .pdf format being so beautiful to both read and print why in the heck are web pages still done in the SGML/xhtml gobblely-gook stuff that has to be mastered to put up a simple resume or recipe??
Thanks, again for the advice. For now, I’ll write in notebooks, and publish when the right thing comes along.
