No Comment Response Emails

    For some reason, we’re no longer getting comment moderation or response emails at GEAR.com on comments to posts. If you were me, what would be the first thing you’d check?

    I know that the system can access sendmail as new user registration emails are being sent. So, I’m thinking some config may have changed somewhere.

    If that didn’t work, I’d deactivate all plugins to see if this resolved the problem. If it worked, I’d re-activate the plugins one by one until I found the problematic plugin(s).

    I’d also try switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

    And you really need to upgrade to 2.9.1 if you want to minimise your risk of being hacked.

    Yeah… we do need to upgrade. I think we can make that happen.

    The old standby of deactivating plugins and checking for the culprit sounds like it might be the trick.
