That error will occur if you are using phpBB 3.1. BridgeDD does not support phpBB 3.1; for that you will need BridgeDD PRO. For more information, please read:

As against last question ^^
When I install DD Pro Bridge, he said:
Your version of BridgeDD is not active, or it is incompatible with this upgrade.
Please contact Dion Designs on the BridgeDD Support Board for assistance.
Yet my WordPress is updated and the version of my phpBB is 3.1.5. So normally it should work.

Since you are using phpBB 3.1.x, you should download the standalone version of BridgeDD PRO.
