    Hey there,

    Been having issues setting up Google Analytics on our site. Used many different plugins and manually added the gtag to the headers of the site but am having no luck getting it to work.

    No HTTP response detected
    Missing analytics.js script

    Currently with this plugin Google Tag Assistant gives us those 2 errors above. Google Tag Assistant also gives the same errors when using MonsterInsights. And before you mention that I am logged into wordpress, I have tried testing on separate computers that aren’t logged into WP and I still get the same errors.

    When adding in the gtag manually to the headers, tag assistant says everything is working fine but says we need to add google analytics even though we used the unmodified gtag straight from Google Analytics.

    Currently at a loss of what to do. I imagine there is a plugin that is preventing Google Analytics from working properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    If I haven’t explained properly please let me know and I’ll give further explanation.

    Thanks!

    Hi @hmcnutt, is this for Google Analytics in general or my GA plugin specifically? If it’s a question about Google Analytics, best advice is to post your question in the Google support forum, where someone who knows Google Analytics will be able to help. Or else if this is something specific to do with my plugin, let me know how I can help and I will try to provide accurate infos asap. Thank you.

    Hey Jeff,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

    Currently we are using your plugin as it appears to be the easiest and best solution for google analytics.

    We’ve done the setup process correctly with your plugin but are unable to get traffic to show up in Google Analytics.

    This screenshot below is what we get when testing with Tag Assistant.

    Yeah my plugin only adds the required GA tracking code to your web pages. Everything else is all up to Google. If you have a link to your site, I can confirm whether or not the plugin is doing its part by adding the tracking code to your pages, or if it looks like something is interfering, etc.

    Ahh yeah, every time we add the code either through your plugin or manually add it to the headers it doesn’t seem to work properly.

    There is an issue with how the tracking code is being included on the page. I am seeing the normal opening <script> tag getting replaced with the following code:

    <script type="text/plain" data-cli-class="cli-blocker-script" data-cli-label="Google Analytics" data-cli-script-type="non-necessary" data-cli-block="true" data-cli-element-position="head">

    So that would be the next thing to look at, which of your other plugins (or theme) is replacing/modifying the correct script tag.
