I have just updated to from 1.3.184 to 1.4.6. Version 1.3.184 and earlier did disable plugin update checking when going to “admin/plugins.php”, ie. on the standard Plugins page. If Clearfy’s “Updates > Plugin Updates” was set to “Disable updates” then it also blocked WordPress from looking for updates when going to Plugins.

However, currently the plugin update checks are no longer blocked, only auto update itself. This is really annoying as with 45+ plugins, waiting for the Plugins page to load is not too much fun as it can take loads of seconds to finish. I used to use Clearfy to speed up the loading of the Plugins page, so I am very sad to learn that this behaviors has been changed.

Is it possible to give us an option to also disable plugin update checking, not just auto update?

My workflow used to be the following with version 1.3.184 and earlier:
    – I kept Plugin Updates disabled.
    – When I wanted to update plugins manually, I switched to “Manual updates”.
    – After performing the required manual updates, I switched back to “Disable updates”.

With the new Clearfy version my old workflow has become pointless, as there is no real difference between “Manual updates” and “Disable updates”, except for that in the case of “Disable updates” the possibility to update from the Plugins page is removed, which is not good for anything if update checking is not blocked at the same time.

Please note that I use the free version and I am not interested in the Pro feature called “To configure plugin auto updates individually” as I want to stop WP from checking for any updates except for the manual update session I perform regularly on my own.
