@ccolotti,
You can import users without sending passwords.
Is that your question?
Yes without sending their password I didn’t see that option. I read a blank password cloumn would generate a random one…and I wasnt sure if that would in turn send it automatically..
OK, but one thing is the email that is sent/not sent, and another one is the way the password is managed.
maybe I can back up 🙂
I want to upload and add users by CSV and don’t care about their password if it’s randomly generated. What I just dpon’t want to happen is the automated “your new account is ready and your password is….” I just want the users inserted, random password created and leave it for further action. Plus we need to assign to custom roles first before they log in. We use a process to send them a link to reset it after the fact.
Does that make more sense? Just want to ensure the new account password email isn’t even sent
@ccolotti,
If you deactivate the email of this plugin no emails will be sent (by this plugin).
If you have another plugin (or the WP core) which is sending this emails (that I suppose you have not) you can try with a test user before doing the massive import.
Cool…thanks I will give a few things a try 🙂
