no plugins work
-
I am using the WordPress software that my webhost provides. I don’t want to do anything fancy, just use a simple theme (ad-clerum from refueled.net) and add a few widgets to the sidebar. Of the widgets that came with the program (akismet and backup) plus the ones I tried to install (cforms and sidebar widgets) none of them work. They show up in the list, I can click “activate”, but nothing clicks/drags/or otherwise behaves.
The tech support at my host (freeservers.com)used a “meta redirect” so that my original address mysite.com goes to the WP page (to avoid using the address mysite.com/cgi/wp)
Should I reinstall and start over? Should I find a different host altogether? Should I get a newer version? I’m willing to continue to pay for the hosting as well as learn how to use this. I don’t give up easily, but I sure could use some help!
thank you!
