I’ve installed MultiVendorX which has added a new User Role called “Vendors.”

The “Author” Role has access in the Admin to “Posts” but once the “Vendor” Role is added, the “Posts” menu in the Admin vanishes.

The site is live but in “Maintenance Mode” and the area in question is the Admin that you wouldn’t see anyway so no link is needed.

I’ve searched for other related boxes to check but can’t seem to figure it out.

    Hi @palmcone

Please reach out to MultiVendorX support to troubleshoot this issue as it seems to be related to role provided by their plugin.

I’ve already done that. Their response is that the plugin should tie in to other plugins properly and to contact this page for support.

    So again….I’m sure it’s a check box I’m overlooking….

Members does not change anything with permissions when you are adding new role unless you change permissions in role settings. Please open Author role in Members > Roles page and check capabilities under Posts tab to make sure they are granted. You can do the same with new Vendors role.

    I hope that helps.

    Maybe you’re not understanding me?

    The Vendor role works.

    The Author role also works.

When I check the button to give BOTH roles for the same user, the ability to do anything with posts goes away.

Yes, of course I’ve checked the “post” area. That’s the obvious place.

Can you double-check that “Denied capabilities should always overrule granted capabilities” option from Members > Settings page to avoid overriding capabilities from different roles?

Can you also send me screenshots of all capabilities for Vendor role, so that I can try to replicate this issue?
