No profile link

    I’m using WPadverts with Peepso.

    When a user creates a new classified, and clicks ‘preview’, the preview shows the user’s profile name LINKED to his profile.

    However, when the ad is submitted, it still shows its user name (and profile pic), but it’s not linked to that user’s profile anymore.

    It should say “By [username_linked]” (which it does in the preview).

    But instead it shows just plain text “[user]“.

    I cannot find a fix for this. In Peepso there’s a setting to override WPA’s template, but this only has an effect on the preview. I have checked the translations for the entry: “by %s” and I added “%s” in the translations just to be sure, no effect though.

    I cannot link to my own website, but see both links below. They are from the WPA demo pages. In the first you can see “Bob Advertiser” linked to his profile, while it is NOT linked in the second. So there should be a way to enable/disable this.

    I am afraid this is going to be a feature from the paid “Authors” extension, or maybe another one, though I can’t find a clear answer from their faq’s. Any help is appreciated either way.

    Hi,

    yes, unfortunately this is an Authors extension feature, the Authors plugin allows users to create their public profiles, without Authors plugin installed there is nothing to link to.

    On the pages you linked to the one username has a link becuase the Ad is assigned to a user the other does not have a link because it isn’t assigned to a user account (even though the user text name is the same the second Ad is not assigned to a wp-admin / Users account).

    One thing i find strange is that in preview you are seeing a link, in plain WP Adverts plugin this should always be a text only.
