No nesting = no replying
Instead of turning off nesting try setting the nest level down to something more resonable like 2 or 3 that way people can still reply to comments.
There is always a reply link next to the article. Users should click this if they were to reply to your article and not a comment.

Hi
Currently running P2 and love it, although some times comments can get pretty hectic, I just had over 25 comments on one post and due to the nesting, the final few were squished in to the right hand corner.
I turned off nesting but now I have to scroll right to the top to the first (original) post to reply. I tried Thread comments plugin but it doesn’t work, is there a fix to bring up reply next to each comment in the non-nested thread?
