• Hi,

trying out the free version on a few pages.

Checked with Pagespeed Insights and Pingdom before and after smushing but the results are the same – after smushing each image on the page there is no change in the page score, although the plugin reports that it has compressed the images. I’ve emptied every cache on the site but results are still the same.

Pagespeed can provide you with compressed images. When I use Pagespeeds images instead of the old ones the scores gets better. Go figure.

    Cheers
    Johan

  • Thank you for using Smush. Savings from site-to-site will vary depending on how many images you have, where the images come from, and how the images have been compressed before they were uploaded. On average users save between 5% and 10% in their media library with Smush lossless compression. This can result in a speed boost but also saves resources and time by automating the process.

I will pass your comments along to the developer. Do you have a specific question we can assist you with? If so please share a link to your site so we can have a look. Thank you again.
