    Hi Frank,

    Thanks a lot for your great plugin! I have been using it for years (without any issues) until now and I am also a subscriber of criticalcss.com

    I have a local copy of my wordpress installation (copy of database, theme, plugins and media files) with autoptimized running perfectly fine on apache with MAMP. However, I also have a production site hosted on siteground.com (which the link above is referring to) where the server stops responding as soon as I activate Autoptimize. I tested it and recognized, that the css checkbox in autoptimize is causing the error. as soon as I deactivate the css checkbox, the server is responding again. I also already deactivated ALL other plugins and still I didn’t receive server response with autoptimize being the only plugin activated. So for now I reactivated those other Plugins. Also I setup error logging in wp-config.php, but the issue isn’t causing a single line of error logs being written.

    Could you please help me finding out what’s going on?
    Thanks!

    I am using WordPress 5.2 and Autoptimize 2.5

    I reinstalled my theme, then shortly autoptimize worked. As soon as I checked the setting for making merged assets static it stopped working again. But when I unchecked this option still it didn’t work again…

    afternoon fatheaddrummer;
    so the URL you provided is on your own server, where all works, right?

    some ideas:
    * try unticking “aggregate CSS”
    * try unticking “minify excluded CSS/ JS”
    * try adding klar/public/dist/ to the comma-separated AO optimization exclusion list (it has a big CSS-file which might cause the CSS minifier to choke depending on server resources & PHP configuration)

    hope this helps,
    frank
