No statistics plugins work for me.

I have a page made in WordPress. The problem I have is that I want to have a statistics-pluggin to measure the number of visitors. I’ve tried X-number of different plugins and none of them seem to work (They are standard statistics plugins that I know work normaly), I suspect it is some kind of systematic error that I have done. I have my own template and I suspected it was this template that was wrong but when I changed template to the default template that comes with WordPress it still did not work. Does anyone of you have the slightest idea where the problem might be? Could it be in the webhosting?
