No thumbnails downloaded from posts

Hi. If we don’t have thumbnail or featured image set on specific post then your plugin don’t show anything but default image. Instead it could download first, last or random image from each post and show it as thumbnail resized to desired resolution

Hope you implement this option

Some themes, like Intergalactic 2, support “Automatically use first image in post” as the featured image. What theme are you using and does it support that?

Anyways, if anyone else shows interest in this feature it will help establish it as a higher priority.

I think my theme does not put first image as featured post. Other related posts plugins have it this option in basic and even can set if first, last or random image will be thumbnail in related posts section

@mnelson4 both Shareaholic and our other Similar Posts plugin have the code necessary for this. It is battle tested. We can copy it from one of them.

Oh! Yes I see this is actually a standard feature in many of the related posts plugins out there. So it would be nice to add.
And ya @matrixpoland I don’t think @yarpp was suggesting you should switch plugins, just that they’d add it as a feature to YARPP when they’re able.

In thumbnail view, I see many default images as many of my old posts do not have featured images. Can you please enable the feature to ‘not show related post thumbnails and posts which have no featured image’. This will prevent lot of default images turning up. This feature is there in WordPress Related Posts Thumbnails.
