    Hi there,

We’re using SSP in combination with Castos hosting for a few years now, and until now it always worked perfect. When I want to publish a podcast post with the Castos player in it (added as a block in Gutenberg), I get a ‘Not a valid JSON response’ error and the post will not publish. It also causes a huge RAM load on the server which I can only end by deleting the post.

In another topic on this forum, I saw someone having trouble with SSP in combination with Yoast. We also use Yoast on our website, so it could be the same problem. The suggested solution was to roll back to a previous SSP version, so I rolled back to version 2.11.0 but the problem is still there.

I hope that you can find a solution for this problem soon, so we can add our new podcasts.

    Hi @mediup

So that I can try to recreate this, you do not have the player automatically displaying on episode pages (setting can be found at Settings > Player) but instead you use the Castos Player Gutenberg Block (Current Episode) when creating the episode? What version of SSP did you use when you first experienced this? The latest?

Thanks, @mediup! I am looking into this for you.

    Hi Kelly,

Thank you for getting back to me. It’s correct that I add the player using the Gutenberg editor manually, to be honest I didn’t know there was any other way. But this workflow has been working fine for me the last few years.

What I do is I upload the podcast through the plugin when creating the episode post. At this point, I can’t add the player to the post at this point, as the podcast is not publishes yet and is not available from the dropdown menu when adding the block. So I publish the post (everything is working fine until now), then I add the Castos player as Gutenberg Block and save the changes to the post.

And exactly at this point, the update of the post will fail and I get the JSON error. The server’s RAM spikes and I have to move the post to trash in order to end the spike.

And I forgot to mention, I was indeed using the most recent version of SSP.
