@ghostrider2190 – Does this happen if you temporarily switch to a default WordPress Twenty series theme?
Also, if you are, or were, using a custom template, is it still available to be used?
– Cais.
Hi Cais
I have some more information. The problem seems to be related to an “old” folder where I initially installed wp and the nextgen plugin. Then I copied everything into the root folder of the website.
After the update I tried to “clean” up a bit and deleted the “old” folder as this is not being used anymore.
Somehow nextgen gallery still refers to that old folder.
I tried to reinstall it – still the same.
The same folder exists also in the root folder of the homepage.
Is there a link that has to be altered?
Cheers, Thorsten
This is a typical WordPress problem and the main reason I avoid WordPress if I can. Workpress stores absolute links in the database. moving folders will almost always break things. I use “WP Migrate DB” plugin. That helps you replace the old link structure to the new. As this is a major problem with WP there might be other plugins available to help fixing links in the database. Hope this help.
Hi rtenny
does that help even if I have transferred the files months ago? I have been using the root folder for about 4 month now.
@ghostrider2190 – As @rtenny points out (thanks!), this could be related to stored paths in the database. If this is the case with NextGEN Gallery, then try using the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options which will often correct those paths related to NextGEN Gallery’s installation (if there are other paths causing this issue that would be beyond our scope of support).
This can happen if you updated from older versions of NextGEN Gallery (even as recent as 2.0.40).
