@fjadrian – The NextGEN Basic Slideshow does not use the NextGEN Basic Thumbnails “captions” template.

If you want the thumbnails link from the slideshow to display a gallery with captions you would need to set that under Gallery > Gallery Settings > NextGEN Basic Thumbnails.

Unfortunately, this would still require you remove these template references from your slideshow shortcodes.

Thanks!

Sorry – my mistake. The problem exists with the NextGEN Baic Thumbnails.

And unfortunately I am not using shortcodes but these codes:
<img class=”ngg_displayed_gallery mceItem” src=”http://franzjosefadrian.com/nextgen-attach_to_post/preview/id–15128″ alt=”” />

@fjadrian – If you have set a specific template under the customizations panel, does it exist in the migration end-point where NextGEN Gallery expects it to be?

It is also quite common for migrations to require you use the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options to ensure all of the path/routing is properly configured for the installation.

Have you tried that?

What NextGEN expects is what You can see here:

http://franzjosefadrian.com/wp-content/gallery/template/template2.jpg

It wants to use a template which does not exists at the absolute path.

The reset-button would only be usefull if I had used the shortcode:

[ngggallery id=xxx]

But I always used the little green button of the WordPress-editor to add a gallery – and so the code is:

<img class=”ngg_displayed_gallery mceItem” src=”http://franzjosefadrian.com/nextgen-attach_to_post/preview/id–15128″ alt=”” />

@fjadrian – Please go under Gallery > Gallery Settings > NextGEN Basic Thumbnails … change the template to the default (read: blank). You may need to manually delete the option that is shown in the drop-down. Save the settings.

Now, go back to the IGW of the display and make the same change there under customization and/or set it to the default gallery-captions.php selection.

Now, you may be able to just clear the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous but I would still strongly recommend using the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options to ensure those incorrect paths are not being used.

PS: If the “captions” template is your preferred default, then feel free to go back under Gallery > Gallery Settings to change your thumbnails back to using it after this is resolved.

Hello,

I have the same problem. I’ve migrated my website from a server to another, I use this code to add gallery :

<img class=”ngg_displayed_gallery mceItem” src=”http://website.com/nextgen-attach_to_post/preview/id–xxx” alt=”” />

And after clearing the cache and resetint option, it still show [Not a valid template]

Really need help here.

Thanks
