For the ebay URLs issue, I can’t replicate it. The link you shared works normally for my test site and I am using only BuddyPress, BuddyPress Activity Plus and Twenty Seventeen theme. So it can be a related plugin conflict or theme conflict.
Can you test them? You just need to deactivate all plugins and test again with only BuddyPress Activity Plus. If still not works try with default theme too. If you can find any conflicting plugin or theme please let me know.
About HTTPS issue, at my test site that link you shared is not working but other HTTPS sites that I tested is working. So I am not sure is there a bug or something related to only that site. But I reported that to developers to get some feedback, when I get more information I will update this thread.
