Not finding database file with complete backup

Something is causing MySQL to restart over and over affecting all sites on it. We’ve had to shut it off until we restore one of the sites to a previous backup. Although I have the sites set to save the files and databases, when I unzip my backups that have the word “complete” in it, I am not finding the database file. I’m pretty sure I’d have verified that when I first set things up quite a while ago that the files AND database were there. It should be in the top level of that unzipped archive file, no? TIA
