Hey @prodmov,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We really appreciate it.
I’m sorry if you lost entries that were collected while using the Lite version of our plugin. While the free version does not have the feature to store entries, we recently introduced a free entry backup feature through the Lite Connect option. Enabling this option in the Lite version allows you to restore the entries submitted through your forms when you upgrade to the paid version of WPForms. If this option had been enabled prior to upgrading, then it would have been possible to recover the Lite entries. In case it helps, you can learn more about this here.
Please know, WPForms Lite allows you to set up automatic form notification emails, for both yourself and anyone else you like (including the person who filled out the form) so that when a form is submitted on your site, you automatically get a notification. We have a video that walks through the setup process here.
While our Lite plugin isn’t able to collect or store entries in any way beyond sending out the email, some hosting providers do log emails that are sent out from the sites they host. So if you need to try and recover undelivered emails, the best next step in trying to find records of previous entries is to contact your site’s hosting provider to ask if they do this.
I’m sorry again for the confusion around this and any data loss that might have resulted. If you have any suggestions on how we can better clarify this, please let me know and I’ll share those with our team. Here’s a screenshot with our current wording from the Lite Entries page and the option to enable Lite Connect.
I hope this helps! Thanks.
