• I’ve tried clearing cache and using a vpn to access my site from different locations but I can never get the correct link appearing. Right now I am connected to a canadian server via vpn but I’m getting a .co.uk link displayed in Firefox, and a .com link in chrome. After turning canadian VPN off and going back to my uk ip address I get .ca link in chrome/ie but firefox still displays .co.uk. I clear both browser w3tc cache everytime I make a change.

    Hi,

That’s a bit strange I’ve never seen differences due to the browser, an alternative way to test the localisation is to install the Amazon Link Spoof Locale plugin and that will create a setting ‘Spoof Locale’ which you can set to Canada or UK.

If you have a cache on your WordPress installation that might confuse things. As anyone else visiting your site will cause it to cache the pages for the locale relevant to them.

One thing to try is to add some code to your theme that prints out the IP address that WordPress sees when you visit the site via various browsers.

Alternatively try visiting http://www.ip2nation.com in/out of the VPN and with various browsers to see what IP address it reports and what locale it detects.

    Paul
