Not receiving 2 step authentication email

Since about the time I installed 4.6, I have not been able to receive the email with the verification code to complete the 2 step authentication. Not even 10 backup codes I received are working. WordPress says the verification code has been sent, but I never receive. I tried working with the server host, SiteGround, but their only suggestion was to disable the plugins (which they did and then I could login, but once the plugins were re-installed, I can’t login again)
Without being able to complete the two step authentication, I can’t login to my site to update/makes changes. Can someone help?
