    Hello

I am not receiving the Auth email upon log-in.

Also I presumed that since I created the Authenticate with Auth app that the auth app code box would appear instead of the email verification but it doesn’t. Is there somewhere in the settings that I missed that the email and password is set?

Basiclly from what I can see no-one can sign-in either way even though it all worked when I set it all up but changed once I logged out.

Please help with email being sent issue first then at least I can enter the admin panel to check the rest.

NOTE: I can access my admin if I go into cpanel/plugins and change the wordforce folders name, then I don’t need verification but that’s how is suppose to work is it.

    Help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Hi @phil1ooo,

Thanks for reaching out! It sounds like you’re referring to the verification emails. The verification emails are sent when reCAPTCHA is enabled on the site and a visitor fails the CAPTCHA check.  Unfortunately, we don’t receive information from Google about why a human may sometimes receive a low enough score to always require verification.

In Wordfence > Login Security > Settings > reCAPTCHA, enable Run reCAPTCHA in test mode.  When this option is enabled, the CAPTCHA will record scores in the chart above, but it will not block bots or visitors. This is intended to be used for a short period to decide on whether you need to adjust the threshold or to check for conflicts with other plugins or themes. You can read more about test mode at https://www.wordfence.com/help/login-security/#recaptcha

The verification emails come from your website and not our servers. If you aren’t getting emails, it usually boils down to one of a few errors.

    • The emails (they come from [email protected]) might be sent to junk mail folders by your email client or provider. Make sure and allowlist or add your website to the list of safe domains so you get emails consistently.
    • Your web server is having a problem with the email software on it. This isn’t like regular emails you send and receive, but rather server alert messages. Usually, a restart of postfix or sendmail (whichever is installed) can fix it. Your hosting provider may need to help with this.
    • If you have a third-party plugin for sending emails with another service, like Gmail, it could be stopping these alerts from going out. Reaching out to the plugin author for support can help.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

    Thanks,
    Margaret

    Hi

In that case this produces another issue as I presumed it was one or the other so I didn’t worry but the reCaptcha box on the log-in page doesn’t appear.

Yes it is all setup in the admin setup page.

Although I do have this issue below that keeps showing up at the top of my admin dashboard and been working for the last week trying to solve it without resolution.

Connection error: Can not authenticate to POP3 server: [AUTH] Authentication failed.

    Hi @phil1ooo,

Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

Regarding the POP3 errors, there’s an issue with the configured credentials. This would prevent emails from being sent. I recommend reviewing the email settings with your hosting or email provider.

    Thanks,
    Margaret

    Will Do!

As for the Pop3 error I have finally found the issue and had nothing to do with your plugin.

But still no reCaptcha box on log-in page.

    Cheers

    Hey Phil,

I’m glad to hear you’ve sorted out the POP3 errors! Unfortunately, I haven’t received a copy of the diagnostics.

With v3 reCAPTCHA enabled, you should see a reCAPTCHA icon in the bottom right of the site. When you hover the icon, it will expand and show the message “protected by reCAPTCHA.” Unlike older CAPTCHA implementations, it does not require the user to read distorted letters, click road signs, or click a checkbox. Instead, Google calculates a score for each user.

If you currently see the reCAPTCHA icon, then reCAPTCHA is enabled and working. You’ll want to double-check which scores visitors are receiving, as you may need to adjust the threshold or check for conflicts with other plugins or themes.

    Thanks,
    Margaret

    Hi- I am back!

I have sent in the dianostics as requested.

The login has no options for recaptha or Code verification and the link in the email (which emailing now works) the link it’s self doesn’t as it takes you back to a different log-in page.

Glad i am not paying forthis plugin as it’s been nothing but a headache since I installed this and honestly is it really and truly worth it? honestly!
