I am using the free version of the Forminator plugin. The form submissions were never received and when running a message trace, the submission never reached exchange (it was not in junk/spam/quarantine). I added an SMTP plugin and after going back in forth both with my hosting provider and with Microsoft, nothing is working. I have checked and rechecked all the settings in the plugin and everything is as it should be.

My hosting provider said that there was an SMTP coming from the Forminator plugin that might be conflicting with the SMTP plugin I installed (but things weren’t working even before I added the plugin), but I do not see any settings for SMTP in Forminator to configure. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • Sounds like the problem I was having, notifications sent but never received.

Try what I did and see if it solves your problem: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/email-notifications-not-sent-6/ (last paragraph of the last post).

    Hi @susan1961

Sorry to hear you are having this issue.

Forminator doesn’t include an SMTP out of the box, we use the wp_mail() function which uses the phpmail(),

Could you please try the solution shared by @olbro but if the issue persists, replace the SMTP plugin using WordPress > Plugins > Add New > Branda

Then Branda > Emails > SMTP and use a Free SMTP for a test such as Gmail or Free Sendgrid plan: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/branda/#Additional-configuration-examples

Let us know the result you got.
    Best Regards

Hello @olbro and thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I already had the from email set to a different email than the recipient email (after googling and finding this might be a solution.

@wpmudevsupport12 I will try the Branda plugin later today and see if that solves my problem.

    Thank you both!

Hello again…unfortunately using Branda did not change anything.

I am still waiting for Microsoft to look further into this since it seems to be an issue with the specific email address that is the recipient. I will keep you posted.

Hello, yes, I have been going back and forth and FINALLY got the form submission going to the email. It took having the owner unblocking port 587 on his device and I had to use his outlook alias email. Thank you for the time you took responding!
