Emails can be tricky to troubleshoot because there are many things involved. A first step would be to use the following plugin to see if emails are working in general on your site:

Also, to approve posts, do I just go into the post and click “publish”?

Hey guys thanks for the swift reply. I downloaded the check email plugin and I tested my email and I didnt receive one. However, I did receive an email from my “contact us” page form.
Any idea whats going on?
Like I said, there are lots of variables involved with sending/receiving emails. For example the issue could be with:
- server software
- WordPress, plugins, theme
- hosting limitations
- email recipient
- anti-spam stuff
- firewalls, etc.
So I don’t even dare to guess.. you will need to do like many others including myself have had to do before: troubleshoot to determine the cause of the issue. Good luck.
