Not Receiving PUT Requests??

Hello!

I use a Third Party Shipper, Pirate Ship, to handle our shipping for the orders placed on my website. Our woocommerce site is integrated into their platform and has been for years. When I log in to my Pirate Ship account, I can click a button and it automatically imports all the current orders that need to be shipped. Once I print the label, Pirate Ship then sends information back to our woo commerce site advising to mark the order complete and add the tracking information to the notes on the order. It has worked perfectly like this for years…until about 3 weeks ago.

I reached out to Pirate Ship and they did some investigating on their end and came back and told me that for one reason or another my server is no longer receiving PUT requests and that in order to mark the orders completed and add the tracking….I need to receive those requests. They ran some tests and tried to send PUT requests to my site and both attempts failed. They sent me screen shots of the failed request. They advised me to contact my web host.

I contacted Go Daddy today, as I have a managed wordpress ultimate site…..and they are telling me that this issue is out of their scope and that I needed to contact Woo Commerce.

Any help that anyone can provide would be super appreciated as this is a very frustrating issue at the moment. The ONLY thing that has happened on my end in the last 3 weeks is that I’ve updated the woo-commerce plugins and database when the notification came that there were new updates AND I updated my PHP to 8.0.

Thank you for sharing the complete case history.

The ONLY thing that has happened on my end in the last 3 weeks is that I’ve updated the woo-commerce plugins and database when the notification came that there were new updates AND I updated my PHP to 8.0.

In order to check your configuration and assist you further, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Hello @lkafrazier,

Thank you for the system status.

API requests sometimes get blocked by security plugins or firewalls enabled on the server. Looking at your system status report this security plugin stood out:

Sucuri Security - Auditing, Malware Scanner and Hardening: by Sucuri Inc. – 1.8.30

Plugin version 1.8.30 was released 4 months ago and, in the meantime, we have had several important WooCommerce updates.

Can you please temporarily deactivate the plugin and check if the API works as expected?

If the issue persists, you will want to do a full conflict test to see if the issue is caused by a plugin conflict with WooCommerce.

Thank you! I will try this fix and test it on the next order that we have to ship. We only do preorders, so it may be a month or so before our next arrival of shipment comes in and we begin to ship again. I’ll be back in touch to let you know if this resolved the issue at that time.
