Issues with email often have more-in common with how your hosting client handles the wp_mail function.

This is a feature that may get updated in the next 4.0 WP CORE release

I would also suggest you set up a test email account and run through the process to see if your getting your emails. This would provide a good starting point to narrow down the possible error.
