    Hi,

Just tried out the ACF extended and it seems like a really cool plugin. However, I am experiencing some issues with saving. I have a field group set up as follow:

    – Explanation (message)
    – Company info (tab)
    – Contact info (group)
    — logo (img)
    — alt logo (img)
    — streetname (txt)
    — housenumber (txt)
    — addition (txt)
    — zip code (txt)

And some more basic info. I am trying to organize it even further, by adding columns. I am trying to get:

    – Explanation (message)
    – Company info (tab)
    – Contact info (group)
    — column 6/12
    — logo (img)
    — column 6/12
    — alt logo (img)
    — column endpoint
    — streetname (txt)
    — housenumber (txt)
    — addition (txt)
    — zip code (txt)

Everytime I save this, it changes to :

    – Explanation (message)
    – Company info (tab)
    – Contact info (group)
    — logo (img)
    — column 6/12
    — alt logo (img)
    — streetname (txt)
    — column 6/12
    — housenumber (txt)
    — addition (txt)
    — column endpoint
    — zip code (txt)

I have turn off all plugins except ACF Pro and ACF Extendend with the basic TwentyTwenty-Two Theme, still the same issue. Also tried to duplicate the field group, change the Name and delete the old one. No luck either..

    Hello,

    Thanks for the feedback!

I just tested the exact same setup as the one you described, and it works fine here on a blank WP 6.0.2 install + ACF Pro 6.0.1 + ACF Extended 0.8.8.9. Here is the video of my test.

I’m not sure what is going on on your installation, since you already tried to disable third party plugins and switch to the native theme. But I would recommend to try on a blank WP install with all latest versions of WP / ACF / ACFE like I did, we never know.

Juut in case, here is the Field Group Json Export.

Let me know if you found something!

    Have a nice day!

    Regards.

    Hi Konrad,

Thanks for the quick reply! Thanks for the video, I tried it, and it does work when it is a ‘clean’ set up of the field group. However, after saving it for the first time and thén save it again, it sets back to how I set it up at first.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the details!

You are right I was able to reproduce the issue. I think you just found a bug in the latest ACF 6.0.1 version.

In fact this bug is not due to ACF Extended and can be reproduced with ACF alone, with a simple Text field. When a user add a sub field to a Group field which has been already saved before, the newly added sub field is shifted to the next position.

I would recommend to submit a bug report on the ACF Github. Note that there is a similar bug report that has been posted recently on the issue #724.

Edit: Actually it does it on all fields, once the field group has been saved. Already existing fields can’t be moved, and newly added fields are shifted to the next position.

    Regards.

    Hi Konrad,

Thanks again for the really quick reply. I also saw that you replied on the GitHub thread. I will keep an eye on it. Good to know where it comes from, now we await the solution! Thanks again!

Yep, I’ll keep an eye on it too.

Note that reverting back to ACF 6.0 or ACF 5.12.3 will fix the issue. You can do it safely without any data loss.

    Regards.

    Hello,

Just a heads up to let you know that the latest ACF 6.0.2 fix the issue!

    Have a nice day!

    Regards.

    Hi @hwk-fr,
Unfortunately, I can reproduce it with ACF 6.0.0, 6.0.2, 6.0.3 or 6.0.4 with ACF Extended 0.8.8.7 or 0.8.8.10

    Hello,

    Thanks for the feedback!

I just answered you on Github:

I just tested it with ACF Pro 6.0.2, 6.0.3, 6.0.4 and ACF Extended 0.8.8.7, 0.8.8.10. In all cases it worked as expected. Here is the video of my test.

Note: That issue was fixed on ACF Pro 6.0.2, so it’s unnecessary to test it on a earlier version
Note²: That issue was in ACF alone, and was unrelated to ACF Extended. I tested it with ACF Extended because you mentioned it.

Can you please post a video showing the issue?

I would recommend to run your test on a blank WP Install with ACF (and ACF Extended if you want) only. It should work like on my test video.

If that fixes the issue, then the problem might be related to a third party plugin. I would recommend to try to disable all your plugins one-by-one (at the exception of ACF Pro & ACF Extended) until you find which one cause the issue.

If the problem persists, I would suggest switch to the native WP Twenty Twenty Two theme, to make sure you don’t have any custom code in your theme that would break the feature.

That issue was in ACF alone, and was unrelated to ACF Extended, so it’s probably better to discuss the topic on the ACF Github.

    Hope it helps!

    Regards.
