Hi, I have been using Smush for some time and was always very satisfied, great job!

Only recently I have encountered my first problem with it. I changed my theme to DIVI and ever since the speed optimization has plummeted. The Smush says that all the images are optimized but the load time is enormous and speed tests say that my website is not serving optimized images. Is it possible to resolve this issue?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @ryan1122,

I took a look at your site, and the major hit to you score in the performance report comes from serving scaled images. Unfortunately, most of the page builders do not optimize images properly, and you need to manually do some fine tuning. For example, try to use the ‘Detect and show incorrectly sized images’ option in Smush to highlight problematic images on your frontend. Then in Divi settings for that image, choose a size that is more appropriate for the element it is placed in. Or you could even create a resized version to fit exactly that size.

Also, please have a look at this really detailed explanation about image sizes in Divi: https://www.elegantthemes.com/blog/divi-resources/the-ultimate-guide-to-using-images-within-divi

    Best regards,
    Anton

    Hi and thank you!
You were right, Divi was not serving the images properly.
