Please re-save your permalinks settings, and try again.

Have you tried to re-save your permalinks settings at Settings > Permalinks?

Certainly tried. Does not go.
Please try to unset “Slug with Front” for Media Categories and then re-save your permalink settings again. If it isn’t helpful, then please post a screenshot of your Settings > Permalinks admin page.
So did not help. WordPress Multisite – can therefore be a problem?

I just tested EML with new Multisite installation. I network activated EML, then re-saved permalinks for a specific website (using media categories) and it works.
