Try:
– switching to the Twenty Ten theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
– re-running the upgrade manually using wp-admin/upgrade.php.
does it have to be through the FTP or phpMyAdmin if I only have two plugins activated. WAit, that could possibly mean that my plugin isn’t compatible and I should have deactivated my plugins before I upgraded, right.
my php file said no uprade needed
tried resetting plugins, switching to 2010 theme manually because when i renamed the folder, there wasn’t any theme as default. None of those tries helped any. i’ll try the clran install next.
I tried them all and nothing improved any.
Now I can’t post posts or pages.
It’s fixed, all I did was call my webhost and have them recover a snapshot of before I upgraded to 3.1.3.
I would strongly recommend that you now:
– backup your database
– switch to Twenty Ten
– deactivate all plugins
– upgrade to 3.1.3
Failure to upgrade places your site at increased risk of being hacked.
Done, Thank you e. I was a bit leery on updating it again but you posted what my next question was, is there a special way to update it.
No. You can either use the 1-click update or you can update manually.
