Good Day,
Can you guys confirm your noted filter is not working?
Help appreciated. Thank you!
Hello @generosus,
The filter you provided is working as intended. Please be advised that the Maximum Image Width applies only to newly uploaded images after the option was enabled or the filter created. It will not resize already existing images.
In case you do not see newly images uploaded within the defined width then something is conflicting with the code applied in functions.php and preventing it from being applied. You are welcome to test on vanilla installation with the Speed Optimizer to confirm the filter will work as intended.

Hey Georgi,
Thank for the info. That is not what you documentation states. We will test your filter (again) with newly uploaded images. Meanwhile, can you update your documentation to reflect what you said? Also, based on your statement, what filter can we use instead to limit the width of our existing images?
Thank you.
Update: We did more research and learned that existing images (contained in the media library) cannot be resized without using an additional server resource, so we don’t expect our previous request to be fulfilled since we’re on a shared hosting plan. However, updating your documentation (contained in your plugin and knowledgebase) to reflect the above is still requested to prevent this topic from popping up again via another user.
Closing this topic hoping that your documentation will be updated to include the information shared above.
Hello @generosus,
Apologies for the delay in our reply. We thank you for your understanding and patience on the matter. The article was updated and the correction applied.
Best regards,
Georgi Ganchev
